Piping Filigree in Royal Icing (video)
...
This is a tutorial on piping filigree in royal icing using the wet on wet technique.
...
10 count icing refers to the consistency of the icing. To check the consistency, take a spoonful and drop it back into the bowl. It should take about 10 seconds for the icing to smooth itself out.

The cookie I am decorating is an orange vanilla spice sugar cookie. It contains orange zest, vanilla bean and cardamom. Download my cookie and icing recipes here!

After you finish decorating your cookies, after a day are your cookies soft? I find that when I make cookies and decorate them, they go soft very easily.
ReplyDeleteHello! The cookies do get a little softer since they absorb some of the moisture from the icing. Are you using royal icing to decorate your cookies?
Deleteooooooohhhhhh!!! thank you for sharing Amber! it's so beautiful!

ReplyDeleteWOW! Thank you for sharing! You are very talented.
ReplyDeleteLOL, I was going to say...I made cookies like this ONCE. IT was hilarious. By the time I got to the other end, it was a little more raised than the other end because I had to look at a card for reference. I was looking, and piping, and looking, and going as fast as my little fingers would let me. It took like four practice runs just to make a few pretty ones. I finally covered up the oopsies with roses. Long story short, YOU ARE AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteAmber, I know you get so many comments, but I just wanted to say thanks for your turotials and creative works of cookie art! I don't "follow" that many people, but I am always watching to see what you do next! I think your work is beyond perfect and has definitely taken cookies to another level!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!

ReplyDeleteWow! Beautiful cookies. I love how easy you make the curve of the swirls seem!! Would you mind doing a tutorial of your bead border? That's the finishing touch that makes your cookies stand apart! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLove these! Tried it myself, but my nr 1 tip kept clogging up. How do you prevent your tips from closing up while piping?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Thank you for your tutorial! Margaret
ReplyDeleteI deleted the reply to the reply. I didn't notice I was doing that.
ReplyDeleteYou cookies are so beautiful!! I love your technique and can't wait to try it. Would you mind share the source of the blue handled scriber? It is finer looking than the PME one.
